St. Augustine Zhao Rong

A Chinese diocesan priest who was one of 120 Martyrs of China killed during various persecutions from the 17th to 20th centuries.

Biography

St. Augustine Zhao Rong was a Chinese soldier who guarded a bishop being transported to execution. So moved by the bishop's courage, he converted to Christianity and eventually became a diocesan priest. He was arrested and tortured to death during the Qing Dynasty's persecution of Christians.
