St. Julia of Corsica

A North African Christian woman who was sold into slavery and martyred on the island of Corsica for refusing to worship pagan gods.

Biography

St. Julia was a Christian noblewoman from Carthage who was captured and sold into slavery when the Vandals sacked the city. Despite her enslaved status, she remained devout and was eventually crucified on the island of Corsica by a pagan governor for refusing to participate in idol worship.
