St. Agnes Le Thi Thanh

A Vietnamese laywoman and mother who was martyred for sheltering priests during the Vietnamese persecutions.

Biography

St. Agnes Le Thi Thanh was a Vietnamese mother of six who sheltered persecuted priests and missionaries in her home. She was arrested, brutally tortured, and eventually executed for refusing to trample on a crucifix. She is one of the 117 Vietnamese Martyrs canonized by Pope John Paul II.
