Biography

St. Rafqa (Rebecca) was a Lebanese Maronite nun who, after years of teaching and religious life, prayed to share in the sufferings of Christ. She soon went blind and became paralyzed, enduring 29 years of intense suffering with remarkable joy and patience. She was canonized by Pope Benedict XVI in 2001.
