Biography
St. Rabanus Maurus was a Frankish Benedictine monk who became Archbishop of Mainz. He was one of the most important scholars of the Carolingian Renaissance, writing encyclopedias, biblical commentaries, and the famous hymn 'Veni Creator Spiritus.' He earned the title 'Praeceptor Germaniae' (Teacher of Germany).
