Biography

St. Notburga was a Tyrolean kitchen servant who gave leftover food to the poor against her employer's wishes. When fired, she worked for a farmer who agreed to let her attend Mass and rest on Sundays. According to legend, when he reneged on this promise, her sickle floated in the air, proving God's will for Sunday rest.
