Biography

St. Mesrop Mashtots was an Armenian monk, theologian, and linguist who created the Armenian alphabet around 405 AD. His invention allowed the Bible and liturgical texts to be translated into Armenian, preserving Armenian Christian identity and culture under foreign domination for centuries.
