Catholic Saint
St. Felicity of Carthage
“A slave and companion of St. Perpetua who gave birth in prison and was martyred alongside her mistress in the arena.”
Feast Day: March 7
Biography
St. Felicity was an enslaved woman who was arrested along with her mistress Perpetua and other catechumens in Carthage. She was eight months pregnant at the time of her arrest and gave birth to a daughter in prison just days before her martyrdom. Her bravery alongside Perpetua has made them inseparable symbols of Christian courage.
Prayer to St. Felicity of Carthage
What I suffer now, I suffer alone. But then, another will be in me who will suffer for me.
