Biography

St. Martin of Tours was born into a Roman military family in what is now Hungary. He famously tore his military cloak in two to share with a beggar during a snowstorm, a gesture that would define his life as one of charity and leadership. Later, he became the Bishop of Tours and played a significant role in the spread of Christianity in Gaul.
