Biography

St. John Ogilvie was a Jesuit priest who returned to Scotland during a time of severe anti-Catholic sentiment. He dedicated his life to the pastoral care of the faithful, enduring imprisonment and torture for his beliefs. Ultimately, he was hanged in 1615, becoming a symbol of steadfast faith and commitment to the Gospel.
