Biography

St. Andrew Kim Taegon was born in 1821 in Korea, during a time of intense persecution for Christians. He became the first native Korean priest and dedicated his life to spreading the Gospel despite overwhelming odds, ultimately paying the ultimate price for his faith. His martyrdom in 1846 inspired many and marked a pivotal point in the establishment of the Catholic Church in Korea.
