Biography
St. Magdalena of Nagasaki was the daughter of Japanese Christian martyrs. She became an Augustinian tertiary and served as an interpreter and catechist for missionaries. During the severe Tokugawa persecution, she was arrested and subjected to the torture of tsurushi (being hung upside down over a pit) for 13 days before dying.
