Biography

St. Lydia was a wealthy seller of purple cloth from Thyatira who became the first European convert to Christianity after hearing St. Paul preach. She opened her home to Paul and his companions and was instrumental in establishing the early Church in Philippi. Her generous spirit and faithfulness made her a key figure in the spread of the Gospel in the Roman Empire.
