Biography

St. Louis Martin was a French watchmaker and the father of St. Thérèse of Lisieux. Together with his wife Zélie, he raised five daughters who all entered religious life. After his wife's death, he supported his daughters' vocations with profound faith. He suffered from cerebral arteriosclerosis in his later years, enduring his affliction with great patience.
