Biography

Born in France, St. Catherine Labouré dedicated her life to serving God and the poor. In 1830, she received a series of extraordinary visions of the Blessed Virgin Mary, during which she was instructed to have the Miraculous Medal created. Her humility and devotion have inspired countless faithful, and she was canonized in 1947.
