Biography

Ulrich of Augsburg received his formation at Saint Gall and later served the Church of Augsburg as bishop. The Catholic account remembers a long episcopate marked by pastoral vigilance and generosity. His religious formation and care for the diocese are central to the individual identity established by the notice.

His episcopal life was remembered for generosity, religious discipline and care for the people entrusted to him. He died in 973 after many years as bishop. Pope John XV canonized him in 993. That act gave formal Roman recognition to the memory of an episcopate whose pastoral service had already made him an important figure in the Church of Augsburg.
