Biography
Teresa Kim Im-i grew up in a Catholic family in Seoul and read the lives of saints from childhood. She chose an unmarried life, worked as a seamstress in a royal household, and cared for people who were grieving or dying. In 1845 she became a housekeeper for Andrew Kim Tae-gon.
Teresa was arrested with other Catholic women at Charles Hyon's house in July 1846. During imprisonment, she encouraged her companions to remain faithful. She died under persecution that September. The source does not settle the precise method of death, and she is a different person from Teresa Kim, the helper of Bishop Imbert who died in 1840.
