Born Edith Stein in Germany, she was a brilliant philosopher who converted to Catholicism and took the name Teresa Benedicta of the Cross. As a Carmelite nun, she dedicated her life to prayer and contemplation before ultimately being arrested and sent to Auschwitz during World War II for her Jewish heritage. Her profound writings on faith and philosophy have inspired countless individuals in their spiritual journeys.
