Biography
Peter Nguyễn Đích grew up at Vĩnh Trị after his Catholic parents moved there from Chi Long to live closer to church. Originally called Khiêm, he married and raised a large family. Neighbors called him Trùm Đích out of respect for his age, standing, and generosity. He helped children preparing for religious service and welcomed clergy into his household during persecution.
Sheltering Father James Đỗ Mai Năm brought Peter into custody along with the priest and Peter's son-in-law Michael Nguyễn Huy Mỹ. The three were beheaded in 1838. Fellow Catholics returned their bodies to Vĩnh Trị. Peter was canonized in 1988.

What the recorded review covers
Individual Catholic institutional source review; original concise factual summary. AI-assisted institutional-source comparison; no qualified human review is claimed. Compared canonical and source names, aliases, clergy or lay status, family relationships and martyrdom details against all 685 baseline canonical or archived identities (625 published) and all prior directory batches. Holy See register number 64 is a distinct individual; source-name variants count as one person. The archdiocesan page explicitly corrects the former baptismal name Anthony to Peter, citing a later Vatican document. The retrieved Vatican list also calls him Peter (individual 64). Trùm was an honorific, not a parish office he held.
