Biography
Peter Cho Hwa-so was the son of a Catholic martyr and assisted the priest Thomas Choe Yang-eop before moving to Jeonju to farm. Married and a father, he tried to maintain a faithful household and was known for listening sympathetically to others.
Arrested in December 1866, Peter urged his son Joseph to flee, but Joseph was captured as well. In prison Peter encouraged companions, including Bartholomew Chong Mun-ho, to remain faithful. He was executed at Jeonju later that month. The bishops' page gives an impossible birth year alongside nineteenth-century events; no corrected birth date is invented, and his son's later death remains a separate entry.
