Biography
Mary Yi In-dog was the younger sister of Magdalene Yi Yong-dog. The Korean bishops' account describes her as a quiet, honest woman whose commitment to Catholicism became especially visible during persecution. She was imprisoned with her sister, and witnesses remembered both women remaining faithful under interrogation and mistreatment.
Mary refused to deny her religion despite the pressure placed on her. The institutional biography also refers to a government record of her conviction and execution at Tangkogae in January 1840. Her story is preserved separately from Magdalene's: the sisters shared a family and faith, but their lives and deaths are not interchangeable.
