Biography
Martin Luc Huin grew up in a French farming family with a strong tradition of priestly vocations. He served as an assistant parish priest before obtaining permission to join the Paris Foreign Missions Society. Assigned to Korea, he arrived in 1865 after a long journey with three other missionaries.
Huin adapted rapidly to local life and learned enough Korean to hear confessions and teach catechism. His ministry also included care for the dying and marriage preparation. Arrested in March 1866, he was taken with Bishop Daveluy and Pierre Aumaître to Seoul for interrogation, then executed at Galmaemot. His short mission nevertheless included substantial sacramental service.
