Biography
Juliana of Cornillon grew up in the care of the religious women of Mont Cornillon near Liege after becoming an orphan. She entered the community and eventually became its prioress. Her sustained devotion to the Eucharist led her to promote a special celebration of the Body of Christ, working with others who shared that concern.
The movement first received support in the diocese of Liege and later contributed to the wider celebration of Corpus Christi. Juliana faced opposition and displacement from her community, spending her later years among other religious communities and at Fosses. Her promotion of Eucharistic worship continued through these difficulties, even before the celebration received wider papal support.
