Biography
St. Edith Stein, also known as St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross, was a brilliant philosopher and theologian whose writings recognized the dignity of women in the Church. After converting from Judaism to Catholicism, she joined the Carmelite order and devoted her life to prayer and teaching. Tragically, she was arrested during World War II and died in Auschwitz, yet her legacy continues to inspire many today.
