Biography
Dominic Nguyễn Văn Cẩm came from Cẩm Đường in Bắc Ninh and received his early religious formation in a Catholic family. After seminary studies he was assigned to help the community at Trần Xá. His superiors later recalled him for further preparation for priesthood, and he was ordained at Cao Xá. He continued serving Catholics as restrictions on their religious life became more severe.
Dominic was arrested in 1859 and taken to Hưng Yên. He continued his religious work among fellow prisoners. He was condemned for refusing to abandon his faith and beheaded near the river at Hưng Yên. He was canonized in 1988.
