Biography
Bernardino Realino was an Italian Jesuit priest whose earlier career included public administration and legal responsibilities. After entering the Society of Jesus as an adult, he was sent to Lecce. There his priestly ministry brought him to hospitals, prisons and people seeking confession or spiritual counsel.
The Catholic account especially remembers the patient welcome he offered and his attention to sick and imprisoned people. He exchanged positions of civic influence for a pastoral life rooted in one community. Nominis records July 2 as his commemoration. Its narrative and reproduced Martyrology notice give differing death years, so this entry leaves the exact year open rather than silently choosing between them.
