Biography
Agatha Kwon Chin-i was the daughter of Magdalene Han Yong-i. Married very young, she later served as a housekeeper for the Chinese missionary Pacificus Yu. The bishops' biography describes controversy surrounding that period and subsequent correction by Pierre Maubant; it records repentance rather than concealing the difficulty.
Agatha was arrested with Agatha Yi Kyong-i in 1839. After a brief escape, she was captured again and refused to abandon her faith under interrogation. She met her mother in prison and wrote an encouraging letter to a friend. She was executed at Tangkogae in January 1840, a distinct person from her companion Agatha Yi.
