Biography
St. Nino was a young woman from Cappadocia who traveled to the ancient kingdom of Iberia (modern Georgia) as a captive or pilgrim. Through her prayers and miracles, she converted Queen Nana and eventually King Mirian III, leading to the declaration of Christianity as the state religion. She is revered as equal to the apostles in the Georgian Orthodox Church.
