St. Nina Martyr of Georgia

A teenage Georgian girl martyred in the Soviet purges for refusing to remove her cross and deny Christ.

Biography

St. Nina was a young Georgian Christian woman who was arrested during Stalin's Great Purge for her religious activities. She was ordered to renounce her faith and remove her cross necklace. When she refused, she was tortured and executed. She was glorified as a new martyr by the Georgian Orthodox Church.
