Biography

St. James the Greater, a Galilean fisherman, was called by Jesus to be one of His closest disciples. Known for his unwavering faith and missionary zeal, he spread the Gospel far and wide, eventually facing martyrdom by beheading in Jerusalem. Today, he is honored as the patron saint of Spain and his shrine in Santiago de Compostela attracts countless pilgrims every year.
