Biography

Barbara Yakovleva was a novice at the Martha and Mary Convent and a devoted friend of St. Elizabeth. When the secret police came to deport Elizabeth, they offered Barbara her freedom, but she refused to abandon her mentor. She shared in the same horrific death in the Alapaevsk mine shaft.
