St. Fulcran of Lodève
Fulcran was bishop of Lodève in southern France. The Catholic account presents his ministry as a sustained combination of prayer, teaching and care for people in need. He visited the sick, supported hospitals and helped the poor, while also calling influential people to account for conduct that harmed others.
He founded monasteries and built churches as part of the religious life of his diocese. His memory remained closely connected with Lodève after his death in 1006. Nominis reproduces the Roman Martyrology's emphasis on his generosity toward the poor and concern for divine worship, and records February 13 as his commemoration. These pastoral priorities are firmer foundations for his biography than later devotional embellishments.
February 13 is a Catholic commemoration recorded by Nominis. This daily reading does not determine the Mass or liturgical rank; local calendars and higher-ranking celebrations can differ.
