St. Teresa of Calcutta, born in Albania, dedicated her life to caring for the destitute and dying in the streets of Calcutta, India. She founded the Missionaries of Charity in 1950, which has grown to include thousands of members worldwide. Her selfless acts of love and service earned her the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, but she always emphasized that the true reward was in serving God through others.
