Catholic Saint
St. Boris
“Prince of Kiev and martyr who refused to fight his brother for the throne, becoming a 'Passion-bearer'.”
Feast Day: May 2
Biography
Boris was a son of St. Vladimir. When his elder brother Sviatopolk plotted to seize the throne, Boris's troops urged him to fight back. Instead, Boris chose to model Christ by non-resistance, sending his army home and waiting for his assassins while singing psalms.
Prayer to St. Boris
I will not lift a hand against my brother.
